As the November 11th Kogi Gubernatorial election draw nearer, an APC Stalwart in Kogi West and Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Civil Service and Labour Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has advised PDP and other opposition leaders in Kogi West, specifically those in the Kabba/Bunu local government, to consider joining the APC for collective development of the land. Adeyemi expressed his opinion during a political group chat during the week, claiming that the PDP’s presence in Kogi West is currently limited and has little or no electoral influence to face the daunting task required to make noticeable contest for the coming gubernatorial election just as all other opposition parties in the state, referring to it as an “empty” entity. He further mentioned that the he emergence of a political “virus” that ravaged PDP in Kogi West leading to mass defection of its big wigs is fast spreading to the eastern part of the state, urging PDP members to join the APC without delay. He said Governor Yahaya Bello’s developmental stride a of giving a University to Kogi West is on its own a laudable legacy projects that have already galvanized people of Kogi West for APC.

Adeyemi highlighted recent losses suffered by the PDP in Olamaboro LGA, where a two-term House of Representative member and a two-term senator, Atai Aidoko, defected alongside many gladiators of Kogi East extraction.

Notable figures such as former Gubernatorial aspirant Dr Joe Erico and Col Babanawa, the longest-serving PDP leader, have also left the party within the past month, an indication that present Ododo Ahmed Usman as the only truly Kogi Candidate whose Candidature have received great defection from other parties

In a surprising turn of events, even the person who initially supported Muri’s candidacy in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has joined the Ododo train, aligning with the APC candidate for the upcoming Kogi elections Omoluabi said

Adeyemi advised opposition leaders and members to seriously consider joining Ododo, the APC candidate, for the November 11th Kogi election for a unity government. He argued that the party no longer maintains a substantial Base anywhere in Kogi West and suggested that aligning with the APC would be more advantageous. He further encouraged them to support Governor Yahaya Bello’s commendable work in Kogi State. Adeyemi emphasized that the APC is the right party for the people, as they can witness the developmental strides made under Governor Yahaya Bello’s leadership.
