The Oba of Benin, Oba N’Edo Uku’Akpolokpol, Ewuare II, expressed optimism about President Bola Tinubu’s performance in office and called for the support of all Nigerians.

During a press conference at the State House in Abuja, following his meeting with President Tinubu, the revered monarch urged Nigerians to rally behind the President, emphasizing that he has already demonstrated his commitment to working for the country’s progress.

“We should support the President, as he is already making significant strides. His dedication and prompt action are evident to everyone. We, as traditional rulers, will support him, and we encourage others to do the same. It is crucial for his success,” the Oba stated.

While the details of the Oba’s visit to the President were not available at the time of reporting, it is believed that the meeting aimed to formally congratulate Tinubu on his inauguration as President and discuss matters relevant to the Nigerian populace.

Earlier, President Tinubu had a meeting with former Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This meeting follows Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visit to Ambode’s residence to celebrate his 60th birthday, which is seen as a sign of Ambode’s return to mainstream Lagos politics.

There are reports suggesting that President Tinubu is considering appointing Ambode to a position in his government, and this meeting likely served as an opportunity to finalize discussions on the matter. Additionally, the President received Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, during an audience.
